Terms of Service

1. The service

Refire is an AI photo retake app: you give us a photo where the moment was right but the shot wasn't — a blink, bad light, an awkward smile — and we generate the same moment, better taken. The website (refirecam.com) is for information and account management; the retaking happens in the app.

These terms are a contract between you and Refire. By using the app or the website, you accept them.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the app. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Refire.

3. Your photos — the rules that matter most

Upload photos of yourself. Refire exists to rescue your photos of you.

• You may only upload photos you have the right to use.
• If a photo includes other people (a group shot, a family picture), you must have their permission to retake it.
• Never upload photos of other people to retake their face — no friends without consent, no ex-partners, and no celebrities or public figures, ever.
• Never use Refire to impersonate anyone — no pretending a retake is a real photo of someone else, no fake identity photos, no deceptive use of a real person's likeness.

What Refire does not do: there is no face-swap, no putting one person's face on another person's body, and no compositing people into photos they were never in. The app retakes your moment with your face — nothing else. We built it this way on purpose, and we enforce it.

You keep all rights to your photos. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to produce your retakes — a license that ends when the photos are deleted, automatically, within 24 hours (see our Privacy Policy).

Breaking the rules in this section can get your account suspended or banned.

4. Acceptable use

You also agree not to:

• Create deceptive, defamatory, or non-consensual imagery of real people.
• Upload illegal content, or any content involving minors in an inappropriate context.
• Abuse the service — automated scraping, credit-farming, reverse engineering, or probing our systems.
• Misrepresent AI-retaken photos where doing so would deceive (for example in news, legal, or identity contexts).

5. Purchases, subscriptions, and credits

All purchases happen in the app as App Store in-app purchases, managed on our behalf by RevenueCat. We do not take payment on this website, and we never see your card number.

• Free trial: the weekly plan starts with a 3-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts to a paid weekly subscription and your Apple ID is charged.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You cancel in-app — in your App Store subscription settings, the same place you subscribed. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Prices vary by region. The exact price for your region is always shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.
• Weekly and yearly plans include a set number of retakes per period (shown in the app at purchase). Unused plan retakes do not roll over.
• Credit packs never expire. Buy once, use whenever — credits stay in your balance until you spend them.
• Our likeness promise: a retake that doesn't look like you doesn't count. Tap 👎 on any result and the retake is free — the credit comes back automatically. This is a standing commitment, not a promotion.
• Refunds: failed retakes are always free, and store refunds follow the store's process. The full rules are in our Refund Policy.

6. AI-generated output

Retakes are generated by AI and may occasionally miss the mark — that's what the 👎 promise above is for. Images from Gemini-class models carry an invisible SynthID watermark, and where the law requires it, retakes may be marked as AI-generated when you export or share them. You're responsible for how you use your retakes.

7. Liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes are announced in the app and on this page before they take effect. Continuing to use Refire after a change means you accept the updated terms.
